Incoming mobility

Incoming mobility

1 – Eligibility criteria for “incoming” students

For the purpose of placement mobilities, our nursing school welcomes incoming students from ERASMUS+ partner universities who signed a convention with Le Rouvray General Hospital.

“Incoming” students must be able to hold common conversations in French and must have a B2 English level. During their placement, French linguistic support will be offered to them.

ERASMUS+ mobility allows “incoming” students to:

  • Learn about the French healthcare system
  • Identify the different care modalities for patients
  • Discover the different actors within multidisciplinary teams who participate in the support of French patients Discover the initial nursing training and/or nursing specialisations in France leading to the French state-registered diploma, to bachelor’s degrees or master’s degrees
  • Discover management and tutelage during placements
  • Participate in pedagogical activities within Le Rouvray Nursing School
  • Exchange with professionals and students
  • Practice French while discovering French culture

2 – Placement mobilities within Le Rouvray General Hospital

Le Rouvray Nursing School organises placement mobilities for numerous disciplines: medicine, surgery, mental health, nursing homes…

Our nursing school can adapt to students’ projects and goals.

3 – Preparing for a placement mobility

3.1 Following the validation of their ERASMUS project, a “practical” file will be sent to students. This file comprises:

  • A map of Rouen, along with various facilities’ contacts and cultural information in Rouen and Seine-Maritime
  • A detailed transport map of Rouen
  • Accommodation addresses
  • References of Le Rouvray Nursing School website and contacts of senior management and ERASMUS coordinators
  • Contacts of ERASMUS representative students
  • As soon as possible: an informative document regarding the facilities which will welcome the students during their stay in France

3.2 Required documents to complete an Incoming Student File:

  • Identity card or Passport (photocopy)
  • Civil liability insurance
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Vaccination card
  • Learning agreement signed by all three parties
  • Certificate of attendance delivered by the partner university
  • Student card from their home university (photocopy)
  • Results of French and English linguistic exams (OLS)
  • Academic record from their home university
  • Placement goals for the student

4 – Available support for students during their ERASMUS+ placement

a) Le Rouvray Nursing School, placement and placement monitoring

On their first day of placement, students will be welcomed within our nursing school by the ERASMUS+ coordinators. This will be an opportunity to discover the school, to meet the education and management teams, to meet the other students, to discuss the training, and to meet the ERASMUS representative students. An additional day of exchange and cultural integration can also be organised.

This first day allows the organisation of placement monitoring, depending on students’ needs and goals (within the nursing school and at their placement).

During their placement, students will benefit from the same support than the other nursing students: a placement mentor, a tutor and supervision professionals. Facilities eligible for placements have signed a supervision charter. A welcome booklet will be available for “incoming” students.

ERASMUS+ coordinators will accompany students at their placement on the first day. A personalised pedagogical support will be available for students during their placement. These coordinators are the chosen intermediaries between students and their placement’s management.

ERASMUS+ coordinators and the senior management of Le Rouvray Nursing School are available at all time during placement mobilities. ERASMUS phone numbers will be given to students on their first day at our nursing school.

b) Acquiring new skills during placement

The evaluation of acquired skills will be done by the supervision team from the placement facility, in collaboration with ERASMUS+ coordinators. This evaluation will be delivered to students and sent to their home university.
